| The delivery of successful energy orientated projects forms an important contribution to Nuttall John Martin’s total service to clients. The Nuttall family has a proven track record of undertaking energy schemes for a range of clients which include:
British Sugar
E.on.uk
Borough Councils
Npower
National Grid
Wind prospect
Powergen Limited
Renewable power is a key element for the reduction of CO2 emissions set by numerous countries at the Kyoto Treaty in 1997.
Within the UK these targets are proposed to be met by the innovation in a range of renewable energy, predominantly wind power. Wind power is the chosen form of green energy due to the cheap running cost and the economical practicality. Within the next 5 – 10 years onshore and offshore windfarms will see a sharp increase in production and will require a high amount of government and private investment.
The construction of bio-ethanol and gas-fired thermal plants is perceived to be a fundamentally low CO2 energy producing form of power which is also earmarked for greater future investment. Nuttall John Martin has been working in this modern field for a number of years building up relationships and advising bodies and investors.
Nuttall John Martin has been awarded two very prestigious green energy projects in 2006.
The Stags Holt Windcluster
An 18MW wind energy project, located 3 miles North East of March in Cambridgeshire. The project consists of all civils works in the construction of nine-turbines which will produce enough energy to supply electricity for 9500 homes in the region.
Wissington bio-ethanol plant
Located in rural Norfolk and the first of its kind to be constructed in the UK, the plant will produce over 55,000 tonnes (or 70 million litres) of bio-ethanol annually from sugar beet. The total capital cost of the plant will be in the region of £20 million and will create a much cleaner and environmentally friendly fuel compared to traditional fossil fuels.
